Improve Your Website’s CTR

Having a website is one thing, but it doesn’t mean anything if you aren’t getting traffic to the website.  CTR, or, click-through-rate is the percentage of people that land on your web-page after it shows in the search engine results page.

There are many factors that can improve a website’s CTR, and we can debate until the cows come home on which ones are the most important, but we put together a (short) list of tips to implement if you wish to improve the amount of clicks your website is getting.

Here are simple ways to improve your website’s CTR and capitalize on potential customers

Optimize Your Webpage

If you want a better click through rate, then you’ll have to work on your on-page SEO.  SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is is a process where you optimize different areas of a website to rank higher in Google and other search engines results page (SERP).  By not having a properly optimized website, you won’t stand a chance of ranking at the top of the 1st page, which is where all the clicks are going to.

Clear Message In Your Title

The title of your website is like your first impression to your audience.  The title is the blue “clickable” link in the search engine results page.  To get people to click on your website’s link and land on your website, a clear message in the Title is a must.  You’ll want to clearly state what is on the page so the user knows exactly what to expect.  You can also include a compelling offer or call-to-action to incentivize the user to click on your webpage.  For example, has a clear message in their title of who they are, what they do, and why people should click on their link.

Make it Mobile Friendly

Mobile friendly websites are absolutely necessary if you want your website to thrive in 2019.  By not having a mobile friendly website, or a website that responds to multiple devices, then you ruin the chances of showing up high in the SERPs.  That’s because it’s the search engines responsibility to provide a positive user experience for the person making a search, and I think we can all agree that non-mobile friendly websites……..suck.

By implementing these three tips, you’ll quickly see a better CTR of your website.  You can easily track the click-through-rates of your website by tracking your traffic with Google Analytics.
